Congratulations to Yanqin Ren (Post-doctoral Scientist, Jones Lab) and Adam Ward (Research Assistant, Jones Lab) who have been awarded a scholarship to attend and present at the IAS 2017 HIV Cure & Cancer Forum in July!
Yanqin will be presenting on “A subset of bnAbs exhibit broad binding to primary CD4+ T-cells infected with reactivated reservoir HIV in vitro” and Adam will be presenting on “Patient-Derived HIV Reservoirs can be Stably Engrafted into NSG Mice and Reactivated by Latency-Reversing Agents in vivo.”
The Scholarship Program was open to everyone around the world working or volunteering in the field of HIV and AIDS, who are at least 16 years of age at the time of the conference. The program provides financial assistance to help people who would otherwise be unable to benefit from the conference. Priority was given to those whose participation will help enhance their work in their own communities, to those who are able to assist in the transfer of skills and knowledge acquired at the conference, and to those whose abstract submission was selected into the conference program.
Many BELIEVE members will also be traveling to Paris, France for the conference. This biennial gathering is the largest open scientific conference on HIV and AIDS related issues - bringing together a broad cross-section of more than 6,000 professionals from around the world to meet and examine the latest scientific developments in HIV-related research with a focus on moving science into practice and policy.
