A number of BELIEVE investigators traveled to Paris, France to attend and present at the 9th IAS Conference on HIV Science on July 23-26, 2017. This biennial gathering is the largest open scientific conference on HIV and AIDS related issues - bringing together a broad cross-section of more than 6,000 professionals from around the world to meet and examine the latest scientific developments in HIV-related research with a focus on moving science into practice and policy.
Dr. Douglas Nixon, BELIEVE’s Principal Investigator, co-chaired a symposia session on Basic Vaccinology. This symposium focused on the role of the major actors of adaptive and innate immunity in the response to HIV: IFN type I response, NK cells, B cells and polyfunctional antibodies, and CD4+ and CD8+ T cells.
